The popular geek-culture festival has been held in the city of Nur-Sultan in 31rd of May - 2nd June 2019.
More than 53 thousand guests attended the largest festival of geek culture Comic Con 2019 held in Nur-Sultan.
Among the invited guests of the festival you could meet well-known viners and representatives of geek cultures: world cosplay stars, artists and comic book publishers, cyber sportsmen and many others.
A headliner of the event was Johan Philip "Pilou" Asbæk – the star of the well-known "Game of Thrones" series, also known as "Euron Greyjoy". Fans had the opportunity to meet the celebrity in person, get an autograph and even take a picture together.
The Festival area was divided into several zones, where every visitor could find something interesting: film studios hall, main stage, autograph session hall, board game pavilion, cyber zone and the space of international studios where guests could see their favorite characters, ask questions and make photo in front of the stands of popular movies and TV series.
The exhibition was attended by such international brands and studios as Disney, Marvel, Wargaming, Cartoon Network, Amediateka Home of HBO, Nickelodeon and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
The Iron Throne was set in the center of the exhibition for the fans of successful “Game of Thrones” series, so that everyone could feel like a rightful ruler of the Seven Kingdoms.
An important component of the Comic Con festival is a cosplay contest: the artists transform into their favorite characters. In the city of Nur-Sultan, we saw 70 beautiful images, surprising and even frightening with their authenticity and beauty. The best was Vladislav Shaman from Almaty, who presented the audience and the jury the image of Disruptor from the popular game Dota 2.
The opening and closing of the festival also went great. The highlight of the opening day was the Ne Prosto Orchestra team, who performed theme songs from popular TV shows and films: "Game of Thrones", "Star Wars", Marvel and DC Comics films. Kazakhstan pop stars the Ninety One closed the festival on the 2nd of June.
On behalf of the organizing committee, we thank participants and guests of the festival for the support and remarkable activity shown during the three days. Hope to see you back next year!
